I say it all the time in conversation, but we really do have the MOST AMAZING members in the Forte Fitness family!
Renee has been a member of our program for the past couple of years, and she is working hard every day to be better than the day before. She always has a smile on her face and never backs down to a challenge.
We LOVE having Renee as a part of our Forte family. She truly is an inspiration to me, to her family, and to everyone in camp. That is why she was our November Spotlight of the month!
I hope her story touches you and gives YOU a little inspiration today!
Here’s her story in her own words…
A good friend encouraged me to join Forte Fitness in May of 2011. I had just turned 40 and lost about 35 pounds (in a not so healthy way) and the weight was slowly creeping back.
To keep the weight off I attempted the P90X program, but after a few weeks injured my shoulder and could not keep myself motivated to complete the program.
Joining Forte Fitness was not an easy decision since I struggled with the fact that I could not do this on my own. Once I joined and was encouraged by the amazing instructors and my fellow boot campers of all ages and fitness levels I was hooked.
When I think about my results that I have achieved so far I don’t measure them in pounds lost, inches or percentages. I think more about the improvements I have made in the number of pushups I can do, how much longer I can hold a plank, how much faster I can run a mile and how much more weight I can lift.
In addition to my fitness improvements, the knowledge I have gained from participating in the challenges offered by Forte Fitness is invaluable to me.
I have learned the importance of detoxing and how to detox. I have learned how to make healthy choices. I have learned how to shop at Whole Foods, how to cook and now how to juice!
I think my favorite accomplishment was after completing the Little Black Dress Challenge and the feeling I felt in my black dress. And my biggest milestone was definitely completing the Spartan 1000!!
Even with everything I have learned and the improvements I have made, the impact Forte Fitness has had on my family is a true blessing to me.
I love when my children attend classes with me and see their mom in action. They are a large part of my motivation and inspiration to be strong and healthy.
Since they are older, Alicia always includes them and teaches them correct technique and encourages them to do their best too.
Just a few weeks ago my son attended boot camp with me, but couldn’t work out since he pulled a muscle in a baseball game. Alicia took the time to show him how to use the lacrosse ball to help with his pulled muscle. These little extras are what keep me motivated and coming back!
My new favorite class is the 9am on Park Ave. Last week while doing Superman’s I was facing three columns that I had never noticed before. Each column is inscribed with the words Strength, Beauty and Wisdom.
At that moment the words provided a little motivation for me to hold my Superman. Now, as I pass the columns on my warm up lap I think how those three words represent what Forte’ Fitness is to me.
I feel stronger, more beautiful (inside and out) and I have the wisdom to set goals and wake up each morning to be better than I was yesterday!”
Thanks so much Renee for sharing your wonderful story!
