Some of the WORLDS top fitness professionals were at the conference I attended (and presented at!) at in California last weekend.
I was blown away the entire weekend by spending time with such passionate, motivated, and driven people.
One of my BEST take-aways came from a guy named Rocco Castellano.
Rocco talked about how important it is to:
KNOW who you are, WHAT you stand for, & what your MISSION is.
The answers to those questions are not easy- and will take time to really figure out.
But once you do figure it out, you will truly be able to move in a direction with confidence, KNOWING that it is your purpose.
Rocco explained that once you determine what your "Core Values" are, who you really are, and what your mission is, ANY decision that comes your way should be an easy one.
Simply put....It's either in line with your personal beliefs, or it's not.
It's NOT
I know that for some of you “diet” is a four letter word and a bigger buzzkill than doing your taxes. But getting healthier is also about getting happier!
So today I’m sharing a few tips from an article I read called 7 Healthy Ways To Lose Weight Without ‘Dieting.’ It’s all about how you can make little everyday changes in your life and see huge differences in your body (and avoid the dreaded D-word :-)).
“Filling up with a range of fruits and vegetables is an easy way to cut your calorie load, a recent study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests…"Follow the rainbow," Wein suggests. "Do your best to eat from all of the color groups during the day."
Make your own fridge as colorful as the produce section of your supermarket.
As a matter of fact, make the produce isle your very first stop in the store. Fill your cart up with fresh veggies and fruits as they come in

If you've been struggling to lose weight and eat a regular healthy diet, then something in your life may actually be out of place.
Mark Sisson from Mark's Daily Apple did an AWESOME blog post about why so many people are NOT LOSING WEIGHT.
Here are Mark's 17 Reasons why People are NOT Losing Weight:
1. You think you’re eating healthy, but aren’t.
2. You’re under too much stress.
3. You need to watch your carb intake.
4. You’re adding muscle.
5. You’re not active enough.
6. You’re lapsing into Chronic Cardio.
7. You still haven’t tried Intermittent Fasting. (which I personally do not do either)
8. You’re eating too much.
9. You haven’t overcome bad habits or developed good ones.
10. You haven’t purged and

Hi Everyone!
Happy July 4th!!! July 4th is a wonderful time to celebrate the GREAT country we live in with your family and friends.
Since many of you will be celebrating at picnics and parties today, you’ll probably be surrounded by high fat foods, drinks, and desserts.
Let’s face it – there will be a LOT of food laced in FAT and SUGAR! Not exactly the best environment if you're trying to lose weight and stick to a healthy diet. As we know, moderation is key.
Here are a few EXTRA TIPS that will help you cut calories, yet give you the satisfaction of not having to deprive yourself today....
Skip the hotdog and have a grass-fed hamburger instead.
Grill chicken breast with a NEW seasoning or marinade.
Skip the bread with your burger (or at least make a better choice by having a whole grain bun.)
Skip potato chips and choose veggies and hummus or guacamole dip.
If you have to

There are many great books out there, but there are few that have actually influenced me to change.
All of these books below have influenced me to make a positive change in my life- and although they are not all about fitness, they are all amazing.
Hope you enjoy them!
1. The Paleo Diet, by Loren Cordain, Ph.D.
The Paleo diet is based on the way we used to eat. It goes back to the days where we used to hunt and gather our food- before the agricultural revolution and before we started stuffing artificial crap, sugars, bi-products, and hormones into our foods so that big companies can generate a higher profit margin.
Although I don't eat this way all of the time, I try to eat about 80% or more Paleo. Through personal experience, I can tell you that not only will you will feel better, have more energy, improve the quality of your sleep, and cleanse poisonous toxins and artificial
